I have an Aspire 1500. Had it a few years and had no problems since now.

My CDRW - DVD drive isn't reading. When i put a CD in it spins around and the light flashes but doesn't read the disc. Tried a few different CDs but none work.

    Any ideas??

You could try updating your firmware and ide drivers if available. You could also uninstall it in Device Manager to see if Windows will find it again. After two years, it may have just died.
