I don't know how to upgrade it, I've already got the core duo waiting to go into this laptop, I just don't know how to dissassemble it.

I just got it today but the processor sucks, (celeron M)

Any diagrams would be very helpful. or pics.. thanks.

    It's an Acer Aspire 3680

    EDIT__

Come on people! anone? I see where the CPU socket is, even the CPU's socket lock is visible if you pull it apart a bit, but I don't know how to get to it! without being forceful, and I realy don't want to break something I just bought today!

Well I ended up figuring it out myself, after COMPLETELY removing EVERYTHING.. damn! did they have to put the CPU slot THAT far away from everything elsE? in order to replace the CPU you had to remove 99% of the laptop's parts..

Well, whaever, it was DEFINATELY worth it!!!
It's now about 300-400x faster, boots in less than 15 seconds, compared to about 2 minutes, and just does everything better, it even has better battery life now.

btw, I realize it's a reaaaaaly late response, but..

There was NO noticable heat increase, it was a T2500 core duo, installed easily after dissasembling, no compatibility issues.

I already had the T2500 sitting on my shelf for 2 months now waiting to be put in a pc, so i didn't buy it seperately. (and 4GBs of DDR667 ram)

btw, about a week later I found out that I had no need for a pc with only a GMA950 video card so I put the old celeron back in and returned it. Purchased at walmart lol.
Then later bought my Sager 5791 :D

Darn right it is! A lot has changed since then, I already upgrades my 3680 to a Core 2 Duo T5200 and 2 gigs of RAM lol... It runs VERY fast now. My friends and family are amazed at how fast it boots into Windows and runs programs. They even think it looks really cool, and look how cheap it was...
