    Acer5920G GPU upgrade problem

    hello everyone...

    I am happy user of ACER 5920G, my laptop originally have ATI HD3470 built in, so I have ordered geforce 8600m GT MXM II from ebay

    when I put in my new card I have only black screen :-( when I put back my HD3470 everything is fine, have tried on few bios's allready and still the same S#@T !!!!

    any solutions for that?
    should I put some specyfic bios version?

    my 5920G have T5750 CPU Centrino 2x2GHz
    4GB Ram

    the new Geforce is 512MB

    Please HELP! thanx

    Some 8600m GT don't have their own bios and use the information in the system BIOS... If you got that kind, it won't work. Other problem is that maybe your laptop is bios locked too...

    NEWS: the Acer 5920G is supposedly only compatibly upgradeable to an ATI 3650

    so.... I wait for some solutions or suggestions... get my card to some other laptop and flash it? any specyfic version of bios for the laptop maybe?

    ask acer. you should have asked acer before you did it or at least found out if it was compatible, did you wear an antistatic wristband?

    the seller on ebay have in description that is compatible so I have go for it, ye I have antistatic yoke on my hand (have IT diploma from computer hardware dude ;) ) the only thing is I have never have too much experience with laptops (mostely standard PC desktops)

    %920G originaly came with 8600M GT card . so it want to work properly . Try to flash your BIOS .
