I recently bought this, not sure if this is a general problem I should post under or the specific laptop.

I plugged in the HDMI cable into the back of the laptop and into the monitor. It doesn't detect it. The laptop nor the monitor. I tried looking up guides and they all give me the same thing, go into personalize and detect, or go to device manager (no detection in there either) or hit windows+p. None of these work.

    Any advice?

I don't have any advice unfortunately, but I wanted to ask you if your V7 came with a VGA adapter? I'm going to be using a 2nd monitor too and I'm not sure if I need to buy an adapter or not.
