My 3201XCi's bluetooth and USB stopped working and now Acer is saying that my notebook "appears to have physical damage" and that they want to charge $449 to repair it. I got the extended warranty! My two options are to pay or to have them send it back.

    Isn't Acer's service great?

What was wrong with the unit? Find out if the damage is external or internal and then have them show/prove it to you. If it's internal, it's rare that damage could be caused on the inside and not the outside, unless it's a liquid spill, but they would have said that if it was. If it's external, you may wat to find out if it was damaged during shipping (if it wasn't there before). If it was damaged during shipping, you might be able to get the courier company to compensate you back for the damage.
