I've had my laptop a year this month, and a few weeks ago I noticed the battery would only charge up to 65%. So I call Acer, they ask if I'd ever called before, I say "no", then they register me over the phone, and tell me they're gong to send me out a new battery. I ask if they'll send a return kit for the old one, they say "no, just keep it". In fact they said if I return it to them they will charge me a disposal fee.

So I get the new battery, charge it and everything is great. I pull it off, put on the old battery, and it charges to 100%. Now it could go bad tomorrow, but up until now (two weeks later), it's still charging back up to 100%, and both batterys are lasting about 2-2 1/2 hours a pop.

The moral of the story; even if you're at the end of your warranty or close to it, call Acer, they may just surprise you!

    YEA ACER! :D

Same type of thing with my AC adapter. It was buzzing, so they just sent me a new one. I hope my latest LCD screen crack goes well.

That's good - at least there are some positive Acer customer support experiences. Just try not to abuse the warranty. :)

Call them and don't mention your warranty just ran out. Just say something like, "I just purchased this laptop last year, and the battery is not holding a charge." Basically don't volunteer the fact that your warranty just ran out. The tech support guy really doesn't care anyway, he wants to be your hero. At least that's how I approached it.

The phone number I called is the tech support number on their website, don't recall it offhand now, sorry.

It's very hard to find the Acer number. You have to google it.

I have this programmed on my cell

    1.800.816.2237

Keep in mind it's for USA only.
