I bought a new Acer net book with Win7 starter. I use this when going on the road but always seems to have email sending issues. I have tried a number of programs like Thunderbird, Window mail, and a few others. They all do the same.
It works fine at home and when i travel I can never send again and some times receive.
I am using a Verizon air card if that makes any difference. I also tried the free hotel wifi that always disconnected after a minute or so.

If I collect my email off the web using mail2web.com, it works fine...

Just can not figure it out since I think I have it fixed then I travel and try and it does not work again...

I have a friend with an older version of this same computer and his does the same thing... weird!

    Any ideas would helpful...

what's your email reader / source server"
    imap or pop3?
    microsoft exchange or lotus domino?

it's all about your email server's certificate or security settings

I started using Thunderbird and I would set up for PoP3 but it would switch to IMAP. I tried a few other and now use Window mail which I thought would solve the issues. I tried it in Boston after it worked at home and sometimes would receive email but could not send. Said it could not find the server. If I used mail2web.com it worked fine....
I am not exactly sure what Im doing here but my Acer laptop I keep home always works fine.

What are the security settings I should use and where are they? I have my own website and company so I use an email from there it which I use Bluehost.

I believe this problem is more related to your internet connection. When you travel the internet connection signal maybe too weak to established steady connection (POP3 or IMAP) with your email server. When you travel, what is the latency to your email server? If it is too high, the area where you are doesn't have good coverage. You might want to check your email server in case the server itself have problem (hardware or configuration), if the email server is yours.
