I got an acer extensa 5220 and the previous owner had lost the recovery disks and had a virus that wiped his vista home program out.
I have managed to get another version of vista on but i need to delete the old recovery partition and old vista program (to free up space),i can press f2 to get to settings but this does get me where i want, also pressed f8 but this is windows safe mode.
Any ideas on how to delete thie old data greatly appreciated.

Also how do we find out what grahic card is inside the laptop,as when we go on the makers website for drivers it gives us 3 options.???
The card reader needs a driver but again acer support gives us 3 options ????

    Hi,
Why don't you simply run the system recovery from the recovery partition? This should (optionally) wipe the rest of the HDD. The recovery process should be described in the manual.

You need to boot from your Windows installation disc. It has tools to delete and create partitions aboard.
Or use dban to wipe the disc.

Check device manager before you wipe the HDD.
