    Hi.

Here it is ... the ****ing BEAST of notebooks :) this thing is so huge it is bigger then my room TV.

    Anyway...now i am stuck with a huge problem I cannot fix :(

It all began when I tried to reinstall the operation system using raid 0. raid was set up OK and disks were added to it.

Now the **** thing dont want to boot up ?!?! I've tried with bootale CD and bootale USB flash drive, nothing happend.

When the boot up process should begin the screen is only black, nothing happens...and sometimes the notebook just shuts down. I've tried everything...with RAID1, 0 no raid. Only 1 HDD installed...NO HDD installed...without luck. Once there was a windows boting screen, but just for a second..then the notebook shutted down. That was the best that i could do.

I believe the problem is with the BIOS and I've already found the new version for it, because the RAID is turned on/off with the bios version I believe. Why else would there be TWO BIOS images available? But I am not able to flush the bios since i cannot boot..not even into DOS (using usb flash key).

I am without any clue now, so am asking you guys to help me out.

any help would be very appritiated.

looks like you tried to reinstall xp without the proper knowledge or know how to do so. Kinda like ripping the engine out of a 98 honda civic with no proper tools or the know how to replace the critical components.

#1. Using raid 0 requires two things.

    A. An origional oem xp disk and not one with an $oem$ folder that is commonly found on dell / hp / compaq disks.

    B. The needed raid drivers for the silicone image controller on your motherboard. Failure to hit F6 upon the reinstall will not allow you to boot or create a single raid-0 image.

If you can disable it then by all means use a single drive for xp and the second for a slaved drive.

#2. Please refrain from the "F" word here on nbr. I don't appreciate it and I understand your frustration but please lets keep away from that please.

#3. If you don't understand what you are doing either read up on it and proceede with caution or don't mess with something you don't fully understand.

For more help with raid - 0 setup (which isn't even raid.. it's striping) go here - http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-10525

Also please note that on some pc's the bios is saved on the hard drive this is done on some models and this may be the case with this pc as well. As wiping the drive you may have removed the bios! Call acer support before you continue any further (you may want to have called the before you started as well!)

Hope it helps, and again lesson learned if you messed with something you don't fully understand. Acer support will fix it for a fee of course... that is unless you can't fix it.
