A few months ago I bought an Acer Aspire 7740 G. This system runs on windows 7 and comes with a recovery partition. With the ALT + F10, on the start up, you can call up a recovery software to reinstall to factory defaults.
Yesterday I wanted to reinstall to the factory defaults. I quickly realized that the ALT + F10 procedure didnt work for me. The recovery partition was infected. Fortunately I had burned the recovery DVD and was able to recover my laptop with the DVD.
I thought the recovery partition was also deleted and reinstalled. Unfortunately the partition was not deleted and the ALT + F10 still did not work.
I searched the internet for more information and read about Post Acer Disc Formatter. With this software from Acer you could delete the partition and reinstall it. I did this and my laptop did not boot anymore. Also I was not able to reinstall windows 7. A big failure for a laptop that cost 1.000 EURO. For those who want to use this software, don't use it.
My question and request is as follow. I want help from acer and people who have a large experience with those systems on how to fix this problem. I want a software that deletes this partition and makes it able restore this partition or deletes this partition and makes it able to restore windows 7 with the backup discs.
I have send back the laptop, because this is a very expensive laptop, it still has its guarantee and I do not want to experiment with it.
