The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Acer VMC conflict with Word

    Found a very strange bug today with Word 2007 and the Acer Video Conference Manager.

    When the VCM is enabled, the Word 2007 status bar at the bottom of the page, where you view word count, becomes disabled. Live tracking of page numbers and words typed, becomes disabled. I tryed disabling Acer VCM in the system tray, and full functionality returned to WORD.

    Anyone else have the problem? Is it worth asking Acer to fix, or will they simply ignore a request?
