    Hi,

I need a replacement power supply for my Acer Travelmate 5730g Laptop.

The original one supplied is a Delta Electronics model number:

    ADP-90SB BB

    Its specs are:

    90W, 19v/4.74a, with a +ve polarity tip (coloured blue)

From the Acer site I think the model number of another compatible version (possibly made by Liteon?) is:

    LC.ADT01.008.

I have seen several replacement power supplies for sale online at much cheaper prices than ordering from Acer but there is some conflicting information around on what is the correct tip for my requirements.

I want to be sure that I get one with the correct tip size. I can't really tell from measuring mine whether it is a 5.5mm*1.7mm or not, I know there are other dimensions of tip such as 5.5*2.5 and more; I'm not sure if they are all colour-coded the same way.

I'm told by someone that all Acer-compatible laptop power supplies use the same tip, they just vary in voltage, but I'm not sure if this is true either.

If anyone could shed some light on this issue I'd be very grateful. What I do know from perusing these and other boards is to avoid universal adapters. I just want to get a 90W 19V/4.74A adapter with the correct size tip!

    Thanks for any help.
