I just got a new Acer TimelineX 4830T and it works great, except the speakers occasionally make a popping/crackling noise when I'm listening to music or watching something on netflix. Is there a way to fix this?

    Thanks

Make sure your sound driver is up to date.
I assume the notebook uses Realtek chip- go to their website and download the most recent audio driver.
Acer doesn't update drivers so the driver on their support website is the same you already have.

+1 I agree. Sounds like the problem buyers were having with the Realtek drivers that were bundled with the notebook.

It says my drivers are Conexant, and I clicked the update driver button and it said I have the most up to date driver. Is there a better way to do this? The problem only seems to happen when running on battery power, by the way. Also, it seems like my speakers recently got slightly quieter. They're still fairly loud, but not quite as loud as when the computer was brand new (only a week ago). Am I imagining this or could something have actually happened?

    Thanks!
