Is it true that if you let Li-Ion battery to drain too much and it will not accept recharge, it is in some cases possible to revive it by putting it in freezer for several hours?

I have TM 5520G and the battery was working fine, however I was playing Doom (yep, the classic :D ) I used all of the battery so the machine did shut down. Problem is that it won't charge, I have tried connecting and disconnecting AC adapter as well as battery but no change. Ubuntu shows that the battery still has about 85% health left.

Have anyone here tried the freezing trick? I actually have already put the battery to the freezer, wrapped it up in plastic bag.
