I have Acer Extensa 4620 which I bought with Windows XP installed. Recently, I had to reinstall windows XP and its drivers. I have installed all the drivers which I downloaded from Europe FTP site except empowering utilities.

However, I feel that my VGA drivers are not properly giving the performance as it used to be. Pictures and movies I viewed in the laptop before reinstalling windows was much clear than now. Screen resolution has set to 1280X800 and Color quality highest 32 bit. Display selected is “Plug and play monitor on mobile intel 965 Express chipset family. However, Default monitor available as the same.

Someone please assists me how to improve the quality of the monitor. Is this due to not installing empowering technology utilities?????

You can try drivers directly from Intel.

I installed XP drivers but I am still not satisfied with the screen quality.

Just one question..!! In my desktop, in display setting, color quality, Highest & Tru colore modes are available but in the Acer, only Medium and Highest.

True colore mode doesn't come for Laptops?

I may be off base with this, but I think with older graphics cards, Highest Color corresponded to 24-bit color depth while True Color was 32-bit color.

Even if I'm wrong on that, I know that on your laptop, Highest Color is 32-bit which is the highest color bit depth currently possible so you are fine on that setting.

What exactly is the current issue with the image quality? Like are videos and pictures more blurry than they should be? Are images grainy? A more detailed description may help us figure out what the problem is :)

Hi, my problem with the image quality is as you mentioned, it is not that sharp it was. The wallpapers resolution, some movies quality are not the same as it was before I reinstall the OS and the drivers. I am sure, ACER Empowering technology utilities are nothing to do with this bcoz I didn’t installed them yet.
