    Hi

    I am having problems burning CD's using an Acer Aspire 5000 series laptop. The laptop is running Windows XP Home Edition and I have tried burning with two different programs (Nero and iTunes).

    When burning with Nero, the laptop starts to read the disc (gets to about 3%) and then displays the message "Burn calibration error" and fails. When burning with iTunes it displays a message saying a problem was detected with audio and video playback before iTunes starts.

    I have tried restoring the system using the Acer recovery discs but this doesn't seem to have helped. I've also been trying to find the drivers for the DVD writer (Slimtype DVDRW SSM85155 according to device manager) but can't seem to find them on the Internet or the Acer website.

    Any help much appreciated.
    Thanks =]
