    Acer Bios Problem HELP!!!!

    As I was flashing the bios, stupid microsoft ... restart my computer.. so now it wont turn on... is there way to reflash the bios. or change the cmos?

    You'll probably need to contact Acer if you cannot even get it to boot. If the BIOS are hosed, you cannot get the machine to POST and then allow you to re-flash via a floppy or within Windows.

    I fail to see how MS is the problem here...Acer wrote the BIOS, and you turned the computer off before it was done most likely ;).

    Anyway, changing/removing the CMOS battery isn't going to help, as the BIOS code is stored in non-volatile flash memory.

    is just that Microsoft Autoupdate. restart thingy, restarted the computer..
    I already contacted Acer..

    Your notebook will probably have a removable EEPROM BIOS, which means that you can get another BIOS ROM and simply exchange it with the old one. That should be able to revive the notebook. Aer may be able to provide you with one, but if it is under warranty, then they may just take the whole notebook in for repair.

    I'll say it once, I'll say it again. never flash your bios inside of an operating system! You ALWAYS do it from dos.
