I've had my machine up and running under XP for a long while actually, but I'm starting to miss a few things:

1 - I can't change the resolution in any of my games. Everything goes out to 1024 X 600 no matter what resolution I select.

(FIXED! Went into the ATI CCC and found a setting under the Display category which let you choose how to set your display. It was set to Stretched, I changed it to Centered and now lower resolutions display correctly.)

2 - I can't control the brightness setting with the Function keys. Or even via CCC's settings.

(UPDATE. After some searching I found that there seems to be 3!! display monitors/panels installed in my Device listings! Am wondering if there is some sort of conflict, mis-installed drivers or whether the right panel is being controled via the Launch Manager?)

3 - I can't use hibernation. I'm pretty sure this is a video driver issue as the hibernating message has some distortions in it when going into hiber. (It never actually hibernates, just does a normal load on rebooting.)

(UPDATE. May also be related to the multiple monitor issue?? Oh well, just thought I'd update in case someone else has the same problem.)

To make a long story short. Does anyone have display drivers which fully work under WinXP for the 521 (Including CCC)?

your notebook has a program called erecovery with that you can reinstall drivers.
Got to start>all programs>acer and the Acer eRecovery Management app should show there.

    cheers

I believe that'd only be installable/usable on a Windows 7 installation. This is Windows XP. Acer doesn't support or provide drivers for Windows XP on the 521. I've had to track down and find drivers for everything myself.

I know others also run XP on their 521's and am hoping that someone has a better display driver.

Thanks for the response though.)

    Anyone else?

There are some problems with the new Catalyst drivers for Windows XP for mobile cards. I've founded some drivers for mobile ATI cards: download / download. Try them and report me how they work.

P.S. all drivers for Aspire One 521 for Windows XP you can find here Drivers for Acer Aspire One A521

Ahh...I wasn't aware that there were problems with the current drivers. Maybe I should try older ones??

Thanks for the link for the drivers! Hopefully one of these will give me more functionality. Out of curiosity, do you have a 521 and if so do you have full use of your Function controls?
