Ok look, here's the deal. I have been searching for days for Blu-ray help. Apparently after everything I've looked at, ACER really screwed up their ads of blu-ray on computer. Because, even though my notebook should play blu-rays....it wont even recognize the disc. It tells me there is nothing there. I am getting really fustrated that there are no drivers or any other useful help out there. Anyone have any ideas?

Does the BD-ROM appear in Device Manager? Can the system see a data CD or DVD [using Windows Explorer]? If yes to these questions, then it is a software issue.

Sometimes newer movies need updates from publisher of the player software. Have you tried more than one disk? I have been using my new Acer laptop for two days, and today the system offered me an upgrade for Acer Arcade [Cyberlink=publisher]. See if your player softwware offers an option for an upgrade.

If you need to continue to seek support, please provide model #, operating system, etc.

Vinny, does your drive have the Blu-ray logo on it? If it doesn't, then you don't have a Blu-ray drive.
Acer packages the Arcade Deluxe software on its systems to provide Blu-ray playback - have you tested it out there?

Time to go back to the store and inquire.
Or better yet, go search the model number from the box and the bottom of your laptop.
If they aren't the same or if they are the same and it's supposed to have a Blu-ray player, there was a mix-up at the factory. Contact Acer and they should take care of it.
If they are the same and no Blu-ray player is specified online, then you lack that capability.
