Just bought this laptop couple of weeks ago and I think you'll find the specs are a little different. Mine has 4GB DDR3, 1066Mhz FSB and the 9600M GT also has GDDR3 ram.

I'm playing WoW pretty nice and smoothly at 1920x1080. Must say I am quite impressed.

One problem I did have, my wireless kept dropping out on me when on battery. The simple fix was edit the advanced power management settings for balanced and set the wireless adapter to Maximum Performance for both battery and on ac.

Getting a case for it is much harder though if you actually want to move it anywhere, its not exactly portable.

I was going to buy this same model from a UK firm who had it up for 749 gbp but went there today and price had gone up to 900gbp. Totally gutted but ended up getting half price 8920g from them. Step down in power but hoping it will run medieval total war 2 ok.

Lol, are you talking about laptopsdirect or acerdirect. I've been watching them change their prices everyday. Currently holding at 899 but you knows it may go back upto 1050 tomorrow then 750 the next day.

:) Yeah laptopsdirect! The prices are up and down and all over the show. I had just talked myself into this one and went to order and it had gone up. Then I spotted the 8920g for 489 and was amazed. Put my order through and dreaded the price error cancelation call but it's gone through and being delivered tomorrow. Seriously keep that place bookmarked and keep checking cos there's something screwy going on.

Well after numerous false promises I found out the cheap 8920g was never in stock. Luckily the thread titled 8930g had gone back down to £731 so I upgraded my order. Whilst figuring out why my delivery didn't turn up I investigated the company and it has a pretty poor rep. I hope my order turns up ok as I can't find another price anywhere near this. Heads up to any UK buyers to research the company before ordering and decide if the saving is worth the risk
