can someone please be abale to tell me what is wrong with my Acer Aspire 7720g laptop, the monitor keeps going off although, the operating system is still running in the back ground. Also plugged in a external monitor and that does the same, i have it working now, but i am not sure for how long.

I did a regcure, and it said something about drivers or so for the monitor, so updadted them then it went haywire on me. i have tried everything, from re-installing operating system to playing about with it.

    Many thanks

    Craig.

Please give us a better description of your problem. For example what are you doing when monitor turns off? Does it turn on after you press a button or move the mouse? Usually monitors use generic driver which comes operating system. Which OS are you using? If it is happening on external monitor it could be related to drivers for your graphics card. Did you install the newest drivers? Which graphics card you have? Hopefully someone on this forum will be able to help you, but some extra information will make that easier.
