    Hi All,

I've been having some battery problems for a while with my Acer Aspire 5920. Warranty is ended so I can't get it fixed that way. Basically, one of the battery holders has snapped off (plastic holder inside the battery compartment) meaning that the battery occasionally comes out of position meaning the laptop just shuts off. It's not a major break and the battery doesn't come out completely. Secondly, and probably related is that the power supply doesn't work when you plug it into the laptop - if you manoeuvre it you occasionally get a supply....but has become a problem.

I'm in need of somewhere to fix this without a huge cost - does anyone know if this is possible and where I might look?

    Thanks

PS Forgot to add I'm in the UK

Sounds like your power pin is coming loose, any decent laptop repair shop should not charge you the earth for a repair.
