    I have just received my Acer Aspire 5742g-6426 laptop with a i3 cpu and an Nvidia GeForce 520m 1GB.My question is what other CPU and GPU can i put into the laptop

    You can't replace the GPU. As for the CPU any Core i3 and Core i5 should work fine. Some of Core i7s would work too.
