    Hello,
I first started experiencing overheating problems with my 5739g where it would turn off during gaming. I think I narrowed it down to the video card overheating so I took everything apart. Cleaned all the dust and replaced with artic silver. It seemed to help at first but now when I turn on the laptop the display will not turn on. Im worried something on the video card failed but I dont want to spend the money to replace it if it turns out not to be the problem. Has anyone had this problem also? Do you think the video card definitely died?
    Thanks for any help

Check with an external monitor first.

I tried as you suggested and nothing was displayed.
