I have a question regarding this laptop (Aspire 5595). I hope someone knows about this laptop since I believe its only available in Asia or some sort. I'm in China currently and a friend just purchased this.

My question is regarding heat. Its seems VERY hot. On the right hand side there's a heat vent (CPU), and the air that blows out of it is very hot. In fact, a couple of minutes after boot up it already gets warm. After an hour of gaming, well...you can warm your hands quite well at sub-zero temperatures haha.

There seems to be no problems with the fan, and as far as dust goes, well...its brand new. I tried using Everest Home to check its temperatures, but I don't think the mobo is well supported yet, as the temperature readings seems off with what I'm experiencing. The numbers don't seem to update in real time, and most of the time it stays at the same number - 35 degrees. The highest I've seen was 50, I believe. But by the feel of the air coming out, it sure seems wayyyyy higher than 50, nevertheless 35!

I've gone into the BIOS and there is no temperature read out there.

Does anyone know how I can get accurate readings of the temperature?

Also, how can you make sure SpeedStep is on? There was no option for it in BIOS. The CPU always seems to be at max no matter what power setting I put it on.

One more thing, what do other Acer users use for Power Management? It came pre-installed with one that's part of the Empowering suite, but I find it annoying.

If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it!! Thanks in advance!

Here are some specs of the laptop:
