Well as any know, this unit comes with an single core 1.6 Ghz Turion TF-20. I am going to
kick it up to a 2.0 Ghz Turion dual core TL-60. I believe it can handle it as max op temp
is 95C. The concern I have is the TDP or thermal design power. The TF-20 is rated
at 15 watts, where as the TL-60 is rated at 35 watts. Does anyone see a problem
here ? I maybe should of gone with a G1 version of the TL-60 which supposedly runs
10-15 C cooler. I don't know. Has anyone updated the TF-20 to a more powerful
    dual core ?

Well it appears that no one has updated the chip. I will so with one model of the
TL-60, take notes, then change it out to the other model which is suppose to run
cooler. I'll post the results so if anyone decides to do this with a TL-60 they'll
see what can be done. Kinda wish I had a TL-42 as that is the chip many have
    had good results from.

The first chip is this one and is suppose to run a lil hot.

    AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2.0GHz CPU TMDTL60HAX5DM

This next one is suppose to run 10/15 C cooler.

    AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2 GHz Dual Core TMDTL60HAX5CT

    We'll see.

Installed this chip AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2 GHz Dual
Core TMDTL60HAX5CT today and have to say having
2 cores helped this old 5532 out pretty well. The unit could
stand 4 gigs of mem, but for the 3 gigs it runs nice. OS is
W7 Home Ed 64-bit and this unit can handle 4 gigs. Core
temps are around 59 C with the room warned up and heated
o2 getting to the fan, but this morning it was running 47/50 C
which may seem a little high, but the unit is running memtest
    without a burp.

Core ran $9.00 shipped, new WD Scorpio BlacK 320 gig
sata was $60.00 and a copy of legit OEM W7 64-bit was
$75.00 and a new DC jack that had to be soldered in as
around $4.00 plus I got to work on my soldering skills.

Plugged it in and it charges and runs So for around
180.00/19.00 with cost on non start unit at first, ended
up with a nice lil laptop for a while.

I may buy another no start 5532 and try the other dual core
    in it..I don't know.

Anyway thanks for looking and putting up with my nonsense.

I just wanted to add that if one does this, that you may have to into
BIOS and set SATA mode from AHCI to IDE in order to stop the unit
from BSOD'ing.I don't know what that is about, but I did notice when
I first booted from the CD to load that it didn't BSOD, but after I did
something and have forgotten what that was, it WOULD BSOD when
BIOS was set at AHCI. Once I set it to IDE it has just been motoring right
    along.

iI know the 5315 I typing this on is set the same way after doing a T-8100
chip upgrade from the stock Celeron chip, again a WD Black Scorpio
320 HD and updated ram and OS. I'm thinking it might be something
with the HD and OS that isn't Acer branded, but not real sure.. Sorry
for the long wind, but I just wanted to give a heads up should someone
    else try this.

Just an update, the unit is running nicely but am having freeze ups with video like youtube
and other vids. I have done some research and it seems this happens with this model.
I'm going to try some different ram first, then see if I can up the voltage a bit. If not,
I might kick the chip down to a TL-50 and see how it runs. I'm going to try it on it running
it's own cool air onto the chips, then some lightly forced o2 into it and see what happens.

Other than the vids, it just motors on and on. Runs around 58C on the chip with non forced
air and that might seem a lil high, but apparently these 5532's run a lil hot regardless.

    We'll see.

    Thanks for looking !

Final update. It's working pretty darn good. Found mismatched ram, so went with 4 gigs of G.Skill
PC-6400 at 6 CAS and 1.8 volts. That worked fine. I left the 60 core in it. So it does run a little warm
at around 55/58 C, but it hasn't shut down or froze up, so ... ok.

Now if I could just get this 6920 working again,it'd be a decent day.

    Thanks for looking.
