There is no dedicated thread for this model and we might as well start here. This model truly deserves credit and the start of an exchange of knowledge base.

The AMD 1.6 dual core scores 3.8 on WEI but it's 6310m GPU scores 5.5.

There is a lot of cross over to Jack's website on the HP Pavillion Dm1Z.

    Purchased this system at staples.

Amazon is listing it for $369 but 2gb ram and 250 HD. Free shipping.

At buy.com it's listed for $349 similar configuration and free shipping.

This APU definietly has more omph than the hd 4250's and Intel GMA and is free from Intel Atom crippling (no 64-bit, 2gb limit memory).

This is definietly more bang for your buck.

    This is gaming capable.

Question if set FSB will be able to overclock this to get up to 117 mhz which would nearly put it at 1.9 ghz.(As was done with a mini-atx board with this CPU).

Also, if there is a pcie slot for wwan card and will a mini-pcie ssd card do?

I was corrected with the intel N-400 series and up of atoms can do 64-bit but is still hobbled by a limit of 2gb of memory.

Just replaced the 4gb of memory to 8gb or ddr3 1333mhz- had to take off the two small screws at the front bottom and slightly pry with a screwdriver as the lid had small plastic tabs - my WEI mem score went from 4.8 to 5.9 and also made the system more snappier as more memory (a total of 3gb) can be allocated to the GPU.

I installed the Beta AMD 11.4 drivers seems to help. 10.2 flash has been crashing on me every webcast I do. Whats your battery life so far? I need to test it with the Hybrid drive I stuck in it last night.

It averages 3 hours and 50 minutes on mine with wifi turned on and brightness slightly dimmed- the 15.6 screen eats a lot of power plus the battery is not of high capacity- you get what you pay for.

So, this thing is pretty good. I can play COD4 with no issues. Pretty bumbed about not being able to overclock the CPU (APU). I have tried it all, from SetFSB, to Overdrive, ATI Tools...just about everything. Also, what is up with only one speaker??? Don't fully understand that either. Love the laptop though, lots of power. If anyone figures out how to overclock this thing please pass it on...........

Yep, no OC on this one. Strange though, with E-300 1.3 ghz AMD cpu- it actually has an overclock turbo boost -don't know the OC speed. But the E-450 1.67ghz that also has a turbo boost mode will be out in June - it will have the hd 6320 with a GPU clock speed of up to 600mhz. Same 18w power consumption. The platform will also support ddr3 1333mhz memory. Sweet!
