    Hi everyone,

I'm new here so sorry if this has already been discussed. However I am having a lot of difficulty trying to restore my laptop to its original factory settings.
My laptop came with windows xp media center edition, I upgraded it to windows vista home premium.
The registry is so messed up from installing/uninstalling programs I want to start fresh.
I do not have any recovery cd's nor for some reason will acer erecovery install on my machine. I have tried the alt + f10 feature but when the screen shows up there is not an existing option where it offers "recovery". The d2d bios option is enabled on my computer yet there still is no recovery option in the bios.
If anyone is able to provide me some sort of advice as to how I could get around this issue to resolve it, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

if you cannot see the PQSERVICE partiton inside DISK MANAGMENT,, then it was most llikely deleted by the VISTA installation process

then your PQSERVICE partition was wiped out (probably by the VISTA install)

with out the RECOVERY CDS or that PQSERVICE partition the eRecovery software is USELESS....

you will either need to contact acer for recovery CDs or just use an XP or VISTA CD to install the OS of your choice...
