    hello, i herd about the aspire series recall after experiancing some problems with mine.
    anyone know more about this topic?

    yes you are right. there was a recall of all acer aspires on the 5000 and 3000 series from end of 2004 until late 2005. this was due to a motherboard problem which acer had realised only months later.

    however unfortunatly for you this recall is over and i recomend spending quit a bit to get this fixed. the problem with the motherboards caused hard drives, screens and memory to fry up.

    buying a new motherboard however is something costly....for a laptop which only costs $700 theres no point buying a motherboard for $500.
