    you should be able to go to start > run > type "erecovery.exe" and then enter.
    This should prompt the disc burning backup feature.
    OR
    On boot up when the acer screen appears hold alt + f10 keys to use the recovery manager. you can actually restore your laptop back to factory condition. There is a hidden partition on your hard drive called Pqservice which acts as a recovery cd.
