    Hello,

Am new here and not very up on all the computer terms so please be patient.

I got this laptop yesterday, i set it up but hate the start up menu that first comes on, can i stop that happening ? Am scared i may delete something that is needed.

The thing is my connection is showing as POOR or LOW i am next to my router and in the past my connection has been good, after a while on the internet Mozilla stops responding because of this.

A few little things i am not used to yet as this is my first time using Vista.

On forums it is hard to keep my changed view as large ( i am partially sighted) i have to keep changing font size each time i log on.

Another thing in firefox suddenly my screen goes white and simply does not work, i then am stuck on that page until i close it off. Hope i have explained this enough to understand.

Please reply in non geeky speak :p as i am just a simple girl.

    Thanks in advance

poppy if you have poor sight.use Ctrl-+ to magnify the screen.its easyer to to do then changing the font all the time.

Ctrl and the + at the same time or just hold down the Ctrl and press the + key until the letters are to big.
as for the orbicam its Vista and one of the updates.it wipes out the drivers and the cam is then seen as a USB device

LeDuc lets give hoggie some positive reps. He deserves it as he has been all over the Acer forum helping people with sensible advise with all kinds of problems. He taught me stuff too :D

one of the mods has done a great job with this link.so download all drivers from here
and download your make and model number drivers.then un-install old drivers.(i always remove old drivers first).this should help.
i have the broadcom card and im using the broadcom software as i kept losing signal.and i found out after i had the wifi router to close to TV and the modem.the electrical fields around most equipment will degrade wifi signal.so i now keep my router under my sofa away from all sockets and electrical equipment.no drop of signal quality, and the strength is always excellent. just a small tip.

    :D
