    Hi All,
a quick one, the BD drive of this notebook (8930) can only read BD or also write them to store information ?
    Thanks for clarification.

HP, Dell, and a few others, including Sager (and their resellers). Pretty much everybody offer this.

Some of the 8920's are Full HD. You just have to check the specs.

They're full HD. Check for example Dell XPS 1730, full HD with blu-ray burner.

Checked, Dell XPS 1730 is only Blu-ray ROM.
Can't belive that to buy a Full HD notebook with Blu-ray writer I can choose only a Sony Vaio.
What are doing the other producer ? Sleeping ? We are in year 2008 !!!

you could always buy a BluRay burner and install it into the laptop of your choice couldn't you?? or do they require special inputs beyond the ATA/IDE connection most ODDs currently use??

if the BluRay burner needs a different interface, then i'd bet that's why you are having issuse finding a PC with the SPECs you desire.

BD writers haven't gone main-stream yet....(And probably won't for the next few years)
    This is the DVD/DL era !! :D

Are you in the US or somewhere else? In the US Dell site at least, you can configure the XPS 1730 to get the blu-ray ROM or blu-ray burner.

Many sites that offer customizing when you purchase your computer offer the BD burner but has of now, in the laptop, the speed of writing is 2x, which is very slow and quite expensive (250.$+). Some external burner can go up to 4x, and the futur talks about 6x or even 8x. Also, a new technology (Prism I think, but not sure), which can read and write info on different angles can translate to a dvd able to stack up to 250g, compare to 50g with Blu-ray disk. And its almost ready technologically. What will happen to Blu-ray then? Finally, blu-ray disk are very expensive, and theres not much HD out there yet to record, except movies but we are not aloud to do that. So, I'd wait. My ,02cents
