i was speaking to a very knowledgeable guy from IBM who was telling me flaws with various notebooks incl. IBM and he mentioned :
1)The carbon casing is actually just painte don top in Acer and is as such suceptible to peeling , eratches etc.
    2) That their HDD shock proof system is not very good

Regarding #2, before the 8204 the antishock system was not even implemented in either of their systems, so it doesn't make that much of difference.

Ok your very knowledgable guys s**ks and he doesn't know what he's talking about. The lid is compose of carbon fiber, it not a pattern that was just painted on. You don't advertise it as a carbon fiber lid if it's not, otherwise you get sued.

Second the G-sensor HD protection tech is new and while not perfect, it's better than any laptop that doesn't have it.

Don't worry, I think something so obvious like that would have catched one reviewer's eye which was never mentioned in any review made for the 8204 so far. So either this particular unit is defective or he is seeing something which is normally seen in notebooks but he is mis-interpreting it.
