Hi all, I have read about the 8104 review but a few nagging questions remain:

    1. I have a Toshiba TruBrite screen the M40/M45 model (annoying bugs) and wonder if the Acer can compare in screen brightness.

    2. Anyone suffer from dead pixels with their Acer?

    3. Any bugs or work arounds you've found needed to be done? For example, this Toshiba refuses to turn on the WIFI unless I toggle a switch off then on again.

    4. I do alot of Powerpoint presenting and use the 'Presenter View'. Is the increased resolution too small to view the presenter notes? I have decent mid-30 year old eyes at this stage!

    5. Overall, what do you think of the build quality given the 2K price?

    Thanks guys,
    Arch

I've been using the 8104 for quite some time now and I'm please with it.

    As to your questions

    a) I've not use a Toshiba notebook before so can't comment on it. However, I've seen the Toshiba screen and its true that its brighter than the 8104. BTW, ACER also has such bright screen on one or two of their models

    b) I've one dead pixel on my 15.4" screen. Too small to be noticeable on such a large screen area. Anyway dead pixel(s) will appear sooner or later as the notebook ages.

    c) Although a switch is provided ACER can automatically detect the presence of WiFi on startup

    d) I don't use PowerPoint so no comment on this, however, screen resolution is a matter of comfort to the user's eyes

    e) I like the ACER ver much given all the cutting edge features expected of a Sonoma
