I have the following problem with this notebook.
I downloaded drivers from acer and synaptics.com but the synaptics touchpad is still not working right.
When i make right click to the synaptics icon on the taskbar the advance menu does not appear. Also when i press the touchpad with my finger the animated synaptics icon does not work.
When i make right click to the synaptics icon an i try to press the menu pressure graph , a message appears and says that the synaptics driver is not installed
Acer told me to restore the notebook in the factory default settings .
I made it but the problem still appears.

    Any help ?

Uninstall the driver, and see if it works alright.

Else, after uninstalling the previous driver, reinstall the latest one from Synaptics.

    which OS are you using?

ACER actually released an ALPS driver for that system (or atleast for the apire 5315, which is based on the same ICL50 motherboard)

you can try the ALPS driver if nothing else helps it would be worth a try...
i know that is the DRIVER i use (i run windows XP, i can't recall if my current driver is also VISTA compatible or if there was a seperate version)

if you have trouble finding the file i may be able to locate it.
i think it came from support.acer-euro.com
