After a bit of head scratching and testing I have finally got my T9600 to behave.

A few comments on the system, the cooling is pretty well done and fairly easy to work with (once you have figured out how to get the fan in and out easily, this is done by tilting it up and pushing forward then down to get it in).
The heatsink managed to get a fair bit of pressure down on the CPU which is a nice change.

You MUST use a quality thermal compound (Arctic silver MX-2 worked for me in the end) using a THIN layer (since you get good pressure).
Undervolting it slightly also for good measure (down to 1.088v in my case) helps keep it cool.

That's pretty much it, am a happy camper now.

Congrats! These "budget" machines seem to handle high-end upgrades quite well :)

Well done, Meaker, Good to know that Acer laptops are very versatile when it comes to upgrades. Although my dream will be to install a quad core

ohhh god finally someone got same cpu with me. But i can not use it full speed cause i have throttle problem. How have you done it? I also use Arctic silver MX-2 but nothing chanced.
I use undervolt down to 1.0375v but you know this cpu have x10.5 mutiplier thats why i can only use 2660 mhz not fully speed.
So is it possible to help me about fix it?
    Thanks :)

I also updated to the latest bios (sorry I should have mentioned this) there was one released not long ago.

I also used crystal CPUID to undervolt since it supports half multipliers.

Under function should be a window with speedstep control. That works for me it gives me max multi and voltage control.

    Only used CPUID.

I have been monitoring my CPU speed/CPU demand.

Sure it clocks itself down at some points in 3dmark but thats because the CPU load is 13% and so it should clock down.
