Ok got my AS6930 from Tiger in. It does have 2nd hard drive bay as i though and has the sata connection. The problem is that there is no bracket to hold the drive in place and also the bay cover has 2 prongs that prevent a 2nd hard drive. I have tried finding the spare parts so that I can interchange and install but looks hopeless unless someone knows who I can order parts through in the states. my other option is to basically come up with my own way to secure the drive. Right now I would have to take a dremel to the 2 prongs (plastic) and sand then down just enough to where they contact the bottom of the new installed drive rather than bottom of the bay. 2nd would be find some type of material that I could use to place between the hard drive and the side of the bay to keep it from coming loose. Any ideas.

I ground off the two 'legs' from the underside of my 2nd drive cover, however found that I would have needed to grind the actual cover itself on the outside curve to get a drive to fit so gave up (although id say its possible to do)

The only replacment cover I could find would have cosy me 30-40 euro so I decided it wasn't worth the money. Someone here may suggest a cheaper place to source them possibly

Below might be another option for you to consider maybe, worked for me-

In the end I decided to use a SSD, take it out of its 2.5" enclosure, wrap it in kaptop tape and used little foam pads (the blue things) to ensure it didnt move around. I set the SSD as my boot drive in the Bios.

Theres a foam pad under the drive in the pics to sit the drive at the right height to stay level with the sata connector, and two as seen in the pics that hold it tight once the cover is replaced.

There's two plastic covers. One for when using a HDD in the bay and one without. Can order the part as shown here.

remove the hard drive with the metal cover still on, lift it at the front where the SATA connector is then slide upwards. the primary has a SATA adaptor on it so you can lift it up, do not pull down along the laptop.
