Hi all, i just got a, Acer laptop (or notebook?) 6920G and every once and awhile it seems that the sound gets this grinding scratchy sound. Just to let you know im pretty computer illiterate so half the things people say i have no idea whats going on ith the computer.

Is there a difference between laptop and notebook??

I have the same issue. When I play movies I just close and re-open the movie, and if I'm listening to music, I just close and re-open WMP.

that seems to work, i was affraid i might have a blown speaker so i had sent my laptop back and got a new one (this one im on) and it still had the same problem so i thought it might be some internal issue which is a load off my mind but is there any way to fix it without having to do that over and over?

I think it's a driver issue, as this does happen to me as well. It also happened when using Linux, however once you install the right software it cleared up. Also, in windows I would just adjust the eAudio manager and the scratchy sound goes away.
