    First time user.
I was trying to turn off the inbuilt micropohones. I'm using Windows Vista Home.
In relation to the playback devices, when the list of three devices appeared the default setting was on the 'two inbuilt speakers'. I chose to disable this to see if this would fix the problem. Now I have no sound at all. I cannot find how to enable the 'two inbuilt speakers' again. The device doesn't appear on the playback devices list.
I would appreciate some help. I'm an inexperienced user.

are you saying that you disabled it in device manager? If so try Action->scan for hardware changed and/or view->show hidden devices (in device manager)

manaroy, in the Vista 'Control Panel', look for 'Acer HD Audio Manager'. On the 'Speakers' tab, click the 'Set default device' button.

For some obscure reason, my brand new 5920G was configured to use 'Digital Output' as default out of the box, so I didn't have sound either. Really odd choice from Acer.
