Hello everybody, hope i don`t do anything wrong posting this, if it already been posted or discussed. Here`s the deal : I bought the wonderful Acer Aspire 5742G-484G64Mncc. The problem is that with the new technology developed by Intel, which is integrated graphics whit the processor i can`t set the dedicated graphic card NVIDIA GT 540M 2 GB primary all the time, this wouldn`t affect me so much if i hadn`t bought my Benq XL2410T 3D 120 Hz Monitor.

Now i understand the intelligence that Intel developed whit the new iCores (adding integrated HD graphic) and having even a dedicated powerful graphic card also (applications that uses less juice runs on integrated graphic and applications that uses high juice is automatically taken by the dedicated graphic card) BUT it seems that Acer or NVIDIA haven`t been able to discover a way to disable permanently the integrated graphic card which drives me crazy and stops me of taking full advantage of my 3D 120 HZ Monitor, and cannot run 1920x1080 on 120 Hz which is possible according to Benq producers and reviews.

SO, how can i permanently disable my integrated graphic card on Acer Aspire 5742G ?

BTW the optimus technology developed by NVIDIA doesen`t exactly work as normally because after i install the integrated graphic as needed, the nvidia software driver doesen`t succesfully install and in the control panel i don`t have the display menus, their missing. I reinstalled the software more than 1 time but the same result. Can anyone help me?

It's impossible to disable Intel graphics with Optimus.
Intel is always active- rendering the frame/window while either Intel or nVidia- depending on what is inside the widow- fills it with contents.

Ok i understand, what about setting my primary card as NVIDIA, so my external monitor can run the 120 hz on 1920xx1080 ? Practically that`s all what i want . PS i have dual link adapter so the monitor indicates me that the connection is DVI (this is the only one that supports 120 hz and 3d, nod HDMI).
