I've had my Acer for some months now, and recently ran into some serious problems.

Two nights ago I left my laptop on, after it was working perfectly fine, and went to sleep. I was only running Firefox and Trillian (instant messaging program), all normal things. In the morning I woke up to a blank black screen. I thought it went into hibernation but no matter what I did, even pressing the power button did not bring the screen back on. With a hard shut down and start up, it seemed fine until I logged in, when suddenly the computer restarted itself.

Since then, it restarted itself multiple times after starting it up and running firefox and such. I waited a few hours and then tried using it again, now it started just hardlocking with a complete freeze up. Since then it would randomly restart or hardlock, seemingly without any similarities in processes. In fact I got into the bios and it hardlocked there. It once froze in the Acer startup logo.

After that I tried leaving it be for a while and since then I have not been able to get it to start. I hear the fan start up when I press the power button but both the fan and seemingly the computer just stop working even though the power button light is lit up.

I first thought it was a heat issue but it was not very hot, also thought it was a hard disk issue but it has been having problems before windows is even started, and a scan disk showed nothing when I could even run it.

I was just wondering if anybody had any ideas as to what this might be caused by? I'd like to avoid sending it in if I can, though it's looking like I will most likely have to. Thanks in advance for any insight.
