    I just finished adding Bluetooth to my Acer Extensa 5620-6830 and thought I'd make a post in case others are interested in doing the same. I used a Dell RD530 internal Bluetooth module I purchased on eBay for $10, plus a couple of connectors I scavenged from dead electronics I keep for parts (10 pin connector for Dell module and 4 pin for Acer motherboard connector).

    I used this pin out document for the Dell RD530 Module:

    Finally, I created this this picture showing the connections from the Dell module to the Acer motherboard:
    ( http://rapidshare.com/files/95123303/Dell-RD530_Acer-5620.jpg)

    Quick Pin Out Summary:

    Dell------------Acer
    1<-------------->2
    2<-------------->3
    3<-------------->4
    8<-------------->1

    Works beautifully, tested with my cell phone. I used heat shrink tube on my pigtail connector I made, heat shrink tube to encase the blue tooth module, and some 3m double sided tape to secure the module to the mainboard out of the way.

    Sorry, I didn't take pictures (like usual). I start out with good intentions, but when I start a project in the evening after the kids go to bed, i usually cut a few corners so I'm not up all night! :rolleyes:

    Good thread. Just want to add the 10 pin BT module in the Dell D600 Latitude (TrueMobile 300, p/n 1U746, CSR chipset), is wired differently and doesn't have a 5V signal at all - only 3.3V for power. Data is on pins 4 (D-) and 6 (D+), Ground is on pin 2 and the LED activity output is on either pin 1 or 3.

    I modded a D600 to have an internal USB 2.0 socket, stealing some 5V power from the back of the HDD connector which is nearby. Works just fine and the spare BT module will find a home somewhere soon I'm sure.
