    Hello fellow Acer owners,

I have this old Acer 5620ZG that I want to make a CPU upgrade, what would be the best possible option?
The actual CPU is T8300, the chipset is Intel PM965 (cpu-z screenshot attached)
I've done some research and found some info on cpu-upgrade.com, but I want to be sure before actually buying it.

    Thanks in advance

GM965/PM965 officially supports T9300 and T9500 at maximum (T9300 being 1/2 cheaper), both are 800MHz FSB CPUs. Dropped a T9300 into my T61 and it runs well.

Judging on the CPU you have, it's best to keep it, the gain is not much, unless you're gonna sell the old CPU afterwards.

    Advanced
With FSB downclock mod it may even be able to take 1066MHz Core 2 Duos (most T9x00 (except T9300 and T9500) and all P-series C2D), at 3/4 of the maximum speed (800MHz FSB on 965 chipsets), though it's a bit risky so don't count on it.
