    Hello,guys,

I'v been using my acer 5100-5830 (TL50, 2G, 120G PATA) for about 2 years now, I'v been pretty happy with the laptop except for maybe the relatively slow 4200rpm HD. Now I am getting a new laptop and I am sening 5100 to my parents.

I only use XP media center on 5100 till now, but I plan to install windows vista ultimate (I have a legit version) on it before giving it to my parents, part of the reason is that my parents can not read English but I can change the display language in vista ultimate, I do have a vista upgrade CD from Acer but it is still sealed but I am not sure if I can change the display language in a home premium version of vista.

Ok, too much background, my main question is "is that very easy to find all the vista drivers for this laptop?" I am worried about all kinds of problems I may encountered with vista installations.

Another question is about the vista upgrade CD, is that locked to this particular laptop. I mean can I use it in another PC, or only this one, or only an acer branded laptop? I don't want to waste the CD since I paid for it.

    Thanks all.

I got it from Acer from their vista upgrade program ( I bought the Acer laptop new with windows XP at the time that vista has been in new laptops, they offer free vista upgrade except pay shipping and handing) , so likely only be able to use on this particular computer?, the
drive disk looks like a regular upgrade CD from Microsoft though. Thanks.

By the way, if I use a different version of XP, say a chinese version, can I still use the COA from the laptop to make the version a legit OS. Thanks guys.
