    Hi,

I have two weird problems with my Acer. The first is that the screen simply turns black when the battery is low and the laptop keeps running. Even when I plug in a cable it stays black but seems to be still running. I have to switch it off via the power button then, which kills all open applications :(

The second problem is, that it only locks the screen when I want to put it into Standby.

Somehow I have the feeling that this might be interlinked cause I would suppose the laptop SHOULD go to Standby on low battery. Can anybody help me?

    I have Win7 Pro installed.

    Thanks!

Hmmmm. Disable Stand By in your power options. Choose Hibernate instead, see if the system behaves the same way. This is odd behavior for sure. Is there anything wrong with the screen itself? Did you drop it or knock into it recently that started this problem?

No, the screen is fine and the weird log off behavior has been there for a while. I took a while to find the power issues though since I usually never go to the limit...
If you mean the menu that decides "what to do when closing the lid etc.": There is only Hibernate anyway...
