Whenever I restart my computer, the login screen for Windows XP just sits there. Initally, I can do the Ctrl+alt+del thing, and move my mouse, but after a few seconds, their buttons won't respond to pressing or prodding.

If I get the Ctrl+Alt+Del off fast enough, I can type in my password/username, by holding each letter/number down for a long enough time. Eventually they show up.

Logging this way either has me in with even more lack of control of my keyboard once I'm onto my Desktop. Or, I'm in, but my wireless says I have no Wireless adapter installed.

So, I need to literally pop my battery out for it to turn off, and try this all again.

Thankfully, my battery is very dry, and I'm getting a new one soon.

But, whenever my battery is low, it will flash it, and the stuck in the login screen will suddenly snap out of its lag.

My mouse seems to work fine in these instances.

Also, sometimes, I just keep popping my battery in and out, and it eventually decides to not lock up my keyboard at login.

    Need some help.
