Anyone look into reducing the size of the Acer erecovery image ? Mine comes to 8.58GB so no way to fit on DVD dual layer media for 1 disc as opposed to 3x dvd-r discs that I need.

It`s only a 1$ or so to buy 3x blank dvd`s, try a $ or £ store, I doubt you can reduce the size and dual layer dvd`s might not even be supported as some dvd-rw have problems writing to them, it is very important to do the recovery disk creation.

Well it isn't cost of blank dvds but number of discs to manage. Right now I have made 2 sets of recovery discs = 2x 3 = 6 dvd-rs + 1 set of image back up of pqservice partition another 3 discs. That's 9 discs already and if was to make a 2nd set for pqservice partition, that's a total of 12 discs vesus 4 discs if using dual layer media.

Guess probably better to rip dvds to iso and place a copy on USB Flash drive for back up as well :)
