I own an Acer Aspire 1804. Just last night, I plugged it in after moving from one room to another. And now when it is plugged in, it dims the display (like if it were on battery power) and the power button starts flashing green and the laptop BEEPS every twenty seconds (like it wants me to turn it off). I can stop the alarm if I unplug then re-plug the power cord, sometimes I have to unplug twice to get it to stop. But eventualy (2-24hrs later) the display dims and the alarm starts again. My manual says nothing about this, does anyone have any idea what the problem is?

I also own an Acer 1804. Having the exact same problem. Beeps on start up with power light flashing. Until today unplugging the power cord and re-insering it stopped the flashing.
Did you ever solve the problem?
I am unsure whether a new power pack is called for or if the their is a connection problem internally.

Their are two possible faults for this. On the 1800, sometimes the powerpin on the mainboard becomes a little loose due to dry solder. This can cause the machine to stop charging and cause the problems that you are getting. The other is that the charger is starting to fail. Either way it is best to have the machine looked at. Hope this helps
