I have just reinstalled Synaptics driver 7.12.3 freshly downloaded.

It says the device is plugged into The PS/2 port. ?EH?

    The touchpad remains dead.

    Any suggestions.

The Logitech wireless mouse works very well.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

try a Linux Live CD like Ubuntu or Knoppix. That way you can rule out if there is a hardware failure or a Windows problem.
