So I just recieved my Aspire 8930. But Im having a problem.

While filling out the information for my operating system, it randomly decided to BSOD on me, loading the dump information then going to a black screen. Now when I turn it off and try to turn it on, the hard drive doesnt click on or even blink the little display, neither does the screen flicker on.

BRAND NEW. Could it be a problem with the power?

Do you see ACER logo during startup? Press F2 during POST. When in the BIOS check if your HDD is listed. If yes restart, try to start the recovery process by pressing ALT+F10. Otherwise I suggest you call Acer ASAP.

yes, it posts and I go to the setup where I must put my name in, my password, what time I want, etc. so the HDD is there, but suddenly it BSODs on me. If I leave it alone it starts back up. I havent charged it so Im thinking I should just let it sit and fully charge first

I remember something about that when I bought my Aspire...I had to leave it to charge at least 30minutes before I turn it on?..or something like that. I don't see how is that related to Windows but...try that..

Can you see what the BSOD error code is? 0x0000something?

I jsut called ACER support and they told me to reinstall the operating system, but I think it buggered out halfway through, so I will run the program later after 30 minutes.

If that doesnt work, I will give Acer a call then file a RMA with Newegg to get a new Aspire

So the screen blacks out and doesnt show anything. After awhile I can press the numpad and the Caps lock and they light up, but the screen is a dull grey. Its lit up but a grey-black

So, now the screen goes black. I can turn on the numlock, the caps lock, pressing Ctrl Alt Delete makes it turn off then back on, but the black screen stays. i lights up from the back but it shows anything.

Tomorrow I am sending it in to the repair labs in texas and I hope I get it back working because I am very disappointed that I got it fresh and new and it didnt work
